Getting Started
What is Autophoto?
Autophoto is an image automation platform that processes thousands of product images at scale. It uses AI to crop, tag, export, and deliver PDP-ready visuals for ecommerce teams.
What is a blueprint?
A blueprint is your reusable logic template that defines how images are processed—what crops, formats, shadows, background types, and export conditions should be applied. Think of it as a recipe that you can apply to thousands of images.
How do I create my first batch?
What is a deliverable?
A deliverable is an export rule (e.g., JPG with white background, PSD with shadow). You can define up to 15 deliverables per blueprint, allowing you to create multiple versions of each image in one batch.
What are image tokens?
Each plan comes with image tokens. You spend tokens when processing images through blueprints. The number used depends on the blueprint’s complexity—AI features like background removal cost more tokens than basic exports.
AI Nodes & Features
Do I pay per export or per feature?
You are charged once per node per blueprint—not per deliverable. For example, adding shadow or background removal once in a blueprint allows multiple exports using those features at no additional cost.

Upload & File Management
Can I upload folders?
Yes. You can upload full folders and retain the structure. The exported files will follow your original folder and filename hierarchy, making it easy to integrate with your existing workflow.
Do filenames stay the same?
Yes—as long as they follow safe naming conventions. Autophoto won’t rename valid files. We support standard characters and will only modify names if they contain special characters that could cause issues.
Can I use SFTP?
Yes. SFTP credentials are provided per batch or per account. You can upload or download images securely, perfect for automated workflows and large file transfers.
What file formats are supported for upload?
We support JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, and PSD files for upload. Maximum file size is 50MB per image. For best results, we recommend high-resolution images (at least 2000px on the longest side).
Tagging & Cropping
What does Autophoto detect?
Pose Detection
- Front
- Side
- Back
- Action
Frame Types
- Full-body
- Upper body
- Bottom half
- Close-up
Product Categories
- Shoes
- Bags
- Accessories
- Apparel
- Furniture
- and many more
Model Types
- On-model
- Flatlay
- Mannequin
- Ghost mannequin
How does landmark cropping work?
You define “From” and “To” points like Chin → Hand or Nose → Shoe. Cropping boxes are dynamically generated for each image using these landmarks, ensuring consistent framing regardless of model size or pose variations.
Export Options
What formats do you support?
Standard Formats
- JPG (72/300 DPI)
- PNG (72/300 DPI)
- WebP (72/300 DPI)
Professional Formats
- PSD (layered: object, background, shadow)
- TIF (layered: object, background, shadow)
Can I use original backgrounds?
Yes—but only if your blueprint allows it. You can also choose solid colors (white, black, custom colors) or transparent backgrounds. Original backgrounds are perfect for lifestyle shots where you want to preserve the scene.
Can I define different export formats per tag or condition?
Yes. You can define conditional rules like: “If tag = topwear → export WebP and PSD with white background” or “If pose = front → add shadow, if pose = back → transparent background.” This allows for sophisticated automation based on image content.
Billing, Plans & Subscriptions
Available Plans
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your plan at any time from your account settings. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the billing period, and you can continue using your remaining tokens.
Do you offer refunds?
As per our policy, we do not issue refunds for unused tokens or partial billing cycles. However, if there’s a billing error or technical issue, contact us at [email protected].
What payment methods are supported?
We accept credit cards, debit cards, and international payments via Stripe. Supported cards include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
What happens when I run out of tokens?
You’ll be prompted to top up or upgrade your plan. You can also enable auto-recharge in your billing settings to automatically purchase more tokens when you’re running low.
Account & Security
Can I invite team members?
Yes. You can add teammates and assign them access to specific batches or blueprints. Different plans allow different numbers of team members, and you can control permissions for each user.
How is my data secured?
We use secure storage, encrypted transfer (SSL/TLS), and strict access controls. Files are automatically deleted after your plan’s retention period unless saved to your account. All data is stored in SOC 2 compliant facilities.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Contact support via [email protected] and we will assist with full data deletion within 30 days, in compliance with GDPR and CCPA requirements.
Do you support Single Sign-On (SSO)?
SSO is available for Enterprise plans. We support SAML 2.0 and OAuth integrations with popular identity providers like Okta, Azure AD, and Google Workspace.
Troubleshooting
My batch failed. What should I do?
Check these common issues:
- Verify your file formats are supported (JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, PSD)
- Ensure file sizes are under 50MB each
- Check that your blueprint is correctly configured
- Verify you have sufficient tokens remaining
- Try rerunning the batch or contact support if issues persist
A layer or crop looks wrong. Can I fix it?
Yes. Use the built-in QA tools to adjust crops, toggle layers, and send feedback. You can also mark results as “dislike” to help improve our AI models. For immediate fixes, you can download the PSD and make manual adjustments.
My download failed. What now?
Try these solutions:
- Retry the ZIP download from your batch results page
- Use SFTP to retrieve files directly (more reliable for large batches)
- Download individual images if the full batch ZIP is too large
- Check your internet connection and try again
Images are processing slowly. Is this normal?
Processing time depends on batch size, complexity, and current system load. Typical processing times:
- Small batches (1-100 images): 5-15 minutes
- Medium batches (100-1,000 images): 15-45 minutes
- Large batches (1,000-5,000 images): 45-120 minutes
High-complexity blueprints with multiple AI features will take longer.
I can’t upload my files. What’s wrong?
Common upload issues and solutions:
- File too large: Maximum 50MB per image
- Unsupported format: Use JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, or PSD
- Connection timeout: Try uploading smaller batches or use SFTP
- Browser issues: Clear cache or try a different browser
- Firewall blocking: Check corporate firewall settings
